The verdict
Where this pick fits.
A wide, low-rimmed porcelain chawan built so the whisk swings freely without splash. Bundled with a small ceramic stand that holds the chasen upright between uses. Bamboo lives longer when it dries dry. Heavy bottom, glazed inside, dishwasher-safe.
Wide bowl, low rim. Room to whisk. The stand keeps the bamboo dry. It earned its spot in our lineup by solving the stage it's supposed to solve, without pretending to solve every stage after it.
