The verdict
There's a real difference, and it's not subtle.
Frontier Co-op's German chamomile is whole flower heads — soft yellow brew, apple notes, dramatically smoother than bagged chamomile. Sleepytime adds spearmint, tilia, and orange to the chamomile base — sweeter, more complex, but the chamomile itself is dust-grade. One is the ingredient. The other is the formula.
Pick Frontier Co-op if
You want pure chamomile, brewed properly, with no other ingredients in the cup.
Pick Celestial Seasonings if
You want the blended evening cup that everyone's mother kept in the cabinet.
